I have always considered myself to be, well… an average adventurer! People often give me a funny look or reaction when I tell them the name of my blog, and that look is generally followed by the question “why average?”
Average to me however is not a bad thing, but rather a beautiful thing. You know that saying “jack of all trades, master of none”? Well, that’s me. I don’t view it as a negative trait, or putting myself down by any means. To me, to be able to engage in so many different aspects of life is exciting and fulfilling. Life is full of so many beautiful places, activities, and experiences, and I personally want to experience as much of it as I can. I mean, we only have this one life right? I plan to make the most of it.
I crave visiting new places, experiencing new cultures, and meeting new people. I love to push my body to its limits, try new things, and find the things that light a fire in my heart. Life is what we make it and I believe the best way to learn is by stepping outside your comfort zone and exposing yourself to new opportunities as much as you can.
My adventures have changed a lot over the years. I’ve gone from hiking and backpacking, to rock and ice climbing and mountaineering, to trail running through the mountains and running ultramarathons in the desert. One thing has always remained the same though; the desire to see just what I am capable of.
